The Cat

Alexander attacked India. Porus was defeated and tied down. Then, Porus was released. Thereafter, Porus’ wife too was let go.

Having done as much, Alexander began his trek back to Greece.

On his way, the Cat caught up with Alexander.

Asoka conquered the kingdom of Kalinga. But he trembled on seeing the corpses. He submitted himself into the Buddhist fold.

On rocks, he inscribed guidances for moral living.

Despite all this, the Cat caught up with Asoka.

Jawaharlal Nehru never won any war. Neither did he carve out didactic axioms on rockfaces.

But, he continued to offer uninterrupted advice to all who came his way. He even took to advising the whole wide world.

In the end, the Cat caught up even with Jawaharlal Nehru.

As for the Cat, who thinks it shouldn’t scare us anymore, it croons  a sweet melody: meaow, meaow!
